Orville Garrison was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 5,1921. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School, he enlisted as a private in the Missouri National Guard on October 23, 1939 and was assigned to Company “F," 140th Infantry. On December 23, 1940, by Presidential Order of November 30, 1940, Garrison was inducted into active service of the United States. He was last stationed at San Luis Obisbo, CA before he was called for cadet training. His enlisted S/N is 20731380.
Primary training was at Phoenix, basic at Tucson, and advanced was at Yuma, Arizona where he was a graduate of class 43-H. He earned his wings in September 1943 and became a new 2nd Lt. His officer S/N is O-753338. After graduation he continued training at Mather Field, CA and then headed to Columbia, SC in November 1943.
He was survived by a wife and an infant son.
